Back to Reality How does It all Start

As a former shopaholic and hoarder I can address this through personal experience and the serious effects. It happens because of compulsive spending and retail therapy for most and this is how it starts.

Most people shop because of other underlying issues and it is their outlet.  These behaviours are taught from childhood in most cases.   It is scary but true.   Parents how many of you teach your children how to overspend without realizing it. You get trapped by consumerism tricks, triggers, and emotional relief.  Oh yes, the infamous I got it on sales and it was a bargain.

How do you know that you have problems?

  • Bargain seekers who purchase items they don’t need because they are on sale.

  • Compulsive shopping when you feel emotional distress.

  • You are always shopping for the perfect item.

  • The image of being a big spender and love flashy items. (The Joneses)

  • Collectors who don’t feel complete unless they have one item in each color or every piece of a set.

  • You buy things because they are cute and you want to be the first to have it.

  • Shoppers who get caught in a vicious cycle of buying and returning.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. So are you one of the above bullets.

If stores know you by name and call you a VIP Customer run because they have control over your spending not you.  You are in denial when you say I am just helping the economy.   This has caused family deterioration, relationship conflicts, health problems, debt, and hoarding just to name some long-term effects.

Why not change your spending habits, consciousness, emotions, beliefs, and financial wellness.  Do you want to get control of your spending?  This is for men, women, seniors, teens, and students.  Change your environment, thinking, and spending habits.
